Silsila comes to Kathmandu

A movie that rocked outside the valley three years ago is finally being screened in the Valley. Silsila, directed by Rajendra Upreti, produced by C.P Paudel, had celebrated 125 days run in Pokhara then. The movie was loved both by audience and critics when it released in 2008. It celebrated 51 days days in many theaters outside the valley, even 75 days in some, which has become a rare fete for these days movies.
The movie was also remembered for its music and gave Basanta Sapkota, the music director, new life in Nepali Cinesansar. The song ‘Sagar Sari Choko Maya’ had ruled the charts for months in Nepali Cinema Song countdowns. The movie finally made to Kathmandu after three years due to queue system. Its being screen in 14 cinema halls in the valley competing with recently released Sapana. Silsila has Rekha Thapa, Biraj Bhatta, Sonia K.C. and Raj Timilsina in the lead roles. Upon asking why so late release, Producer says better late than never. He expects, the movie will same kind of run in the Kathmandu has it had in Pokhara.
