Maternity Leave only after Five Years: Rekha Thapa

Even when Rekha’s movies are not on screen, she steals the lime light with her interviews and publicity stunts. Be it dancing along with Maoist Supremo Prachanda, spreading rumors of her divorce or wearing holy cloth in an item number. She knows how to remain in the news.

In an recent interview covered by a weekly magazine, she says she has no plans to join her contemporaries brigade of motherhood. While her friends Arunimal Lamsal & Sanchita Luintel are expecting baby anytime soon, Rekha plans to have baby only after next five years in Nepali Cine Sansar. She has been married with producer Chabi Ojha for almost ten years and still she has no plans to step into motherhood. She cites her work is taking toll upon her and she has no time to properly plan for the family yet.

Interestingly she plans to retire from the movie industry once she has a baby and get into production/direction field. She also hinted to, she might enter into politics in her later years. She has been known for her close connection with Maoist party and its deduced that she might run for election from the same party if required in future.

It is said; to become mother is every woman’s dream, but not Rekha Thapa’s.
