Who is Harishta K.C. ?

Once in a while in Nepali Cinesansar we get surprises. This week, we were stunned as well as heartfelt during the audio launch of the movie Dulahi. Produced by Harshita K.C., starring Rajesh Hamal, the movie Dulahi will be hitting the screens soon but till date its producer never made a public appearance. Last Friday, on 20th May 2011, the producer came forward, she was just couple of years special child with autism. Everyone was stunned to meet Harshita.

In a society like Nepal, where couple prays for a baby boy, a very special couple who always wanted a girl baby one day decided to adopt a child after their first baby boy. Mr. Harisaran K.C. & Kopila K.C. some three years ago brought in an abandoned child from a hospital. Later they discovered she was facing some memory problems. They took the child to Apollo Hospital India for medication, but still failed. Today Harishita is facing autism, cannot hear or speak along with blindness. Despite such problems, the couple named the child Harshita (Happiness), as she brought happiness in their life. Their effort to adopt such special child should be applauded. Its one thing to do some charity work, give donation, but to give life to disabled is above humane.

During the function, veteran filmmaker Yadav Kharel asked media to print the couple’s photo on the front page of their paper instead of regular politicians who are always busy playing dirty games. The hall echoed with claps after his speech. Media along with cinema celebrities congratulated the parents of 3 years old parents and showed their appreciation for the couple’s good deed.
