This Week: Nigarani (2011) to hit Valley

Sushil Pokherel’s Nigarani is all ready to hit the screens this Friday, 01 April 2011. We had a chance to talk with the movie’s director Rajendra Upreti, who is all geared up for the release. Nigaraani will be screened in 12 cinema houses within the Valley. The makers of the movie were very happy to know that no other Nepali movie is pitted against Nigaraani this Friday. Due to on going World Cup Cricket, there has been slowdown in the Bollywood movies also, which is helping Nepali movies to earn little better.

Producer Sushil was already smiling from ears to ears expecting big return from the movie. He added, he has invested nearly 6.5 Million Rupees in the movie and expects at least 8.5M in return. Due to Queue system, the movie finally got its turn for this weekend within the Valley. The makers will release the movie outside the Valley in Hetuada, Narayangadh, Butwal only in next Friday.

Director Upreti is also having very high hopes from the movie. Nigarani is based upon current affairs of extortion of children with an urban backdrop. Director revealed the plot of the movie saying; “Its a action thriller based upon recent children kidnapping incidents. You can expect lots of fight sequences between villains & police.”. Action choreographed by Himal K.C. added, you will see some of the never seen before stunts by Biraj & Mukesh in this movie. Biraj Bhatta, Mukesh Dahal & Arunima Lamsal are the leading stars in the movie.
