September 10th marked the huge clash of titans in Nepali CineSansar. Those were the days when a producer/director could have wide release of his movies outside and within the valley at a same time. Also, there used to be single release every Friday to avoid probable losses due to competition. The increase in the number of movies, theaters and the demand of Nepali movies have prompted makers to release their movies territory wise sharing the screens across the nation.
Today four movies were released across the nation distributed according to territory and screens. Pal Pal Ma was the first one, based upon male prostitution and rapidly growing issue of infieldity among city dwellers. The movie got ‘A’ certificate for the release. Starring Dilip Raymajhi in the lead the movie got minimum screens in the valley despite its huge craze before release.
Another movie was Deepak Shrestha’s Himmat 2, Riding on the success of Rekha Thapa’s Himmat, director turned producer Deepak Shrestha’s Himmat 2 was released outside the valley in 13 territories. The movie stars Una Upreti and Biraj Bhatta in dual roles.
Govinda Gautam’s Sindoor was also released today to target ‘Teej’ festival. The movie showcases the significance of Sindoor for Nepali married women. The movie stars Biraj Bhatta, Kusal Thapa, Zenisha K.C. along others. The movie is expected to have dream run in this women’s festival Teej.
Last but not the least was Deepshikha, starring Arunima Lamsal, Niraj Baral, Jiwan Luitel in lead character, the movie is a love triangle inspired from numerous bollywood mis-mash socio-romances.
