Movie: Chino

The movie which revived the Nepali Cinema, brought back the days of 35mm entertainment. Directed by veteran Tulsi Ghimire, starring super stars Bhuvan K.C. and Shiva Shrestha in lead roles, Chino was run-away hit when released in early 90s. The movie celebrated silver jubilee both within the valley and other circuits.
Supported by Sharmila Malla, Kristi Mainali, Sushila Raymajhi and Tulsi Ghimire himself, lost and found story with vengeance of a widow was enough to draw audience to the theater.
Chino had all the elements for particular Nepali movie; action, story, romance and above all top notch music.
Sung by Legendary Narayan Gopal ‘Mohani Lagla Hai…‘ rocked the charts for more than six months. Chino is often referred as ‘Sholay’ of Nepali Cinema. As in Sholay despite multiple starcast one actor who stood out the most was the villain ‘Amjad Khan’, same happened with Chino. Sunil Thapa got recognized as ‘Rate Kaila’ and his the-go – ‘Yo kura rate lai man paryo‘.
A must watch entertainer.
