In 12 years even river changes its course of flow
The above saying suits well to Rakshya, the first female film editor turned director in Nepali Cinesansar. March 24th, 2010 near poolside of Mahendra Police Club we spotted anxious yet confident Rakshya, who had edited more than two dozen Nepali movies like Maya Namar, Kartvya, Jeevan Rekha, Muglan in past 12 years. She was greeting the guests attending the launch ceremony of her first directorial movie - ‘The Game’.
Stars like Niruta Singh, who had reigned Nepali CineSansar for more than a decade had flown down from India to participate in the movie. Along with Niruta and Jharana Thapa actors like Suman Singh, Balnarsingh Rana were grooving to the tunes during the function. Incidentally, actor Balnarsingh is not just Rakshya’s husband but also script writer of the movie. After the muhurat shot, Rakshya shared had some spare time to share about the movie.
The Game, is a suspense thriller with urban backdrop. Rakshya wanted to break out from normal Nepali masala cinema paradigm, so she choose thriller subject revolving around human behavior. How person can be manipulated and played like a game.
We hope Rakshya, all the best !
