Doctor Singh Gurung’s second venture after ‘Bandiki’, Batuli has got tremendous response from eastern Damak to western Dhangadi. After Bandiki’s success the producer has once again tried his hands upon rural social message story. The movie stars Biraj Bhatta, Rajesh Hamal and Rekha Thapa in major roles. While Rekha, plays the lead as Batuli, who believes we don’t need to wait politicians to develop our country but ourselves. No wonder, the movie is running houseful at Pathibhavara for past three weeks.
The main story of Batuli revolves around a rural Nepal, where naive villagers are waiting for the development promised by their politicians during elections. Unfortunately, neither the politician ever come to village after election nor the development which he had promised of. While all the villagers run after politician, Batuli on the other hand never believed politician words.
She had always believed in ‘Hariyo Baan Nepal Ko Dhann’, so she along with her villagers work hard to protect their green forest, improve cattle farms, implements modern agriculture techniques. Gradually, the lifestyle of the villagers improves with the money earned from selling aggro-products, livestock, dairy products, etc. Finally, the dream of new and developed Nepal comes true with the hardship of villagers themselves not politicians who cannot give more than words.
Gurung was excited with the kind of response from around the Nepal for his movie. He said, the movie is satire to the politicians who just talk of New Nepal. He also added, the effort of every common man is the backbone for the New Nepal. So, everyone must now act together instead of running like a fool after those politicians.
